Frequently asked questions.
Clear answers for condominium boards and property managers evaluating security service.
How is condominium security pricing determined?
Pricing depends on the schedule, location, duties, required experience, supervisory model, statutory employment costs and other property-specific requirements. PSG reviews the actual scope before issuing a written proposal.
Can PSG manage a transition from another security company?
Yes. PSG reviews schedules, post orders, access systems, keys, open issues and management priorities, then prepares personnel and reporting procedures before the service commencement date.
Is PSG licensed and insured?
PSG is an Ontario PSISA licensed security guard agency, maintains $5 million commercial general liability insurance and carries applicable WSIB coverage.
What reports will property management receive?
Reporting can include daily reports, occurrence reports, incident reports, logs, shift handovers and other property-specific records. PSG’s online reporting portal supports digital records and permission-based client access.
What happens if a scheduled guard is absent?
The absence is escalated to scheduling and operations so available relief options can be activated. The property-specific response and communication expectations are defined through the staffing plan and service agreement.
Can management request that a guard be replaced?
Management concerns are reviewed promptly. PSG may coach, retrain, discipline, reassign or replace personnel depending on the facts, urgency and contractual requirements.
What are the guard’s main condominium responsibilities?
Responsibilities may include concierge service, access control, visitors, contractors, packages, keys, patrols, CCTV, parking, amenities, fire panel response, emergencies and reporting. The exact duties are controlled by post orders and the service agreement.
How does a PSG guard respond to a building emergency?
The guard recognizes and reports the problem, activates the property’s emergency procedure, contacts management, emergency services or the appropriate contractor, controls access to the affected area, assists residents and responders within the guard’s training and authority, and completes detailed records. Technical rescue and repairs remain the responsibility of emergency services and licensed contractors.
Can PSG issue parking tickets?
Yes, where the client requires parking enforcement and the municipality permits it. Selected PSG security guards obtain city MLEO authorization and may then issue parking tickets at the assigned property. Not every PSG guard is an authorized MLEO.
What uniform do PSG condominium guards wear?
The formal standard is a black three piece suit with a closed collar white dress shirt, black tie, black dress shoes, nameplate, approved PSG shield and SECURITY patch.
How are guards trained after deployment?
PSG provides continuing online learning, virtual sessions, on-site training, SOPs, checklists, evaluations, report monitoring and corrective coaching.
Does PSG provide temporary and 24-hour coverage?
PSG can design scheduled, overnight, temporary, additional or continuous coverage subject to location, staffing availability and the agreed scope.
Does PSG provide security for individuals or private homes?
No. PSG specializes in security for residential condominium corporations. Its personnel, training, supervision, procedures and liability planning are focused on condominium operations rather than personal protection or individual household security.
